Richard Turner
Richard first encountered north Indian art music via television in 1980. In 1995 he saw Gurinder Chadha's film Bhaji on the Beach and began listening to Indian folk and film songs. In 2000 he was recruited by the UK newspaper Indiaweekly as a trainee journalist. He was then offered a column in the Salt Lake Post, Kolkata. In 2002 he founded veena Indian Arts Review. Richard's writing has since appeared in the London community newspaper Confluence and on the leading Indian dance website narthaki.com. He is single and lives in London.Posts
